My 2008 TGHFF ended with a heavier note than expected. 8 by eight notable film directors expressed in the film their views on the progress of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted by 191 governments in 2000. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Muhammad Yunus, described MDGs as "the boldest decision mankind ever took on this planet." The film, on the other hand, might not be as bold, but could be an effective media to promote the awareness of the MDGs and to remind the politicians that they have a promise to keep.
