Sell Out! Poster "Sell Out!", my own "opening film" for the 2008 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, actually sold out tonight. The film started with a rather hilarious interview between an arts show host, Rafflesia Pong, and a film director who recently won an obscure film award. The director was bare-chested but putting on a solemn look. When he was asked why the dialogs in his film were so slow that some critics considered them as boring, he suddenly launched into a lengthy and passionate response, saying that life itself is boring; his film reminds everybody that; and musicals are strange: why in the world will someone start to sing in the middle of a conversation?
And there you have it, the beginning of an extremely funny musical from director Yeo Joon Han's first full-length feature film.
