The apple slices in Evania's Lock&Lock has been consumed with joy and appreciation. It has been a long time since I last brought a lunchbox with me to work. In fact, I don't quite remember when the last time was and what I brought. I even wonder if there was a "last time." It might very well be that this is the first lunchbox I have ever brought to work.
Seeing the process of preparing the apple slices was something of wonder. The whole apple was washed with water flowing out of a faucet to remove the wax from the skin. Then it was carefully cut into slices, which were dipped into water mixed with salt, a measure to prevent the slices from turning brown. All of these were done over a bathroom sink. This adaptive and somewhat unusual practice had never failed to bring me a chuckle.
All in all, I was amazed at how the care and tenderness had sweeten the taste of the apple slices.
