First Night Pittsburgh

First Night Pittsburgh 2007, the premier New Year's Eve celebration in the Cultural District of Downtown Pittsburgh, consisted of music, exhibitions, parade, movie trailers screening, snacks, and the countdown to fireworks (see my Picasa Web Album at the left for more detail). According to the schedule, there were 37 attractions, activities and programs from 6PM to midnight. I had never seen so many people in downtown, although the rain had certainly reduced the size of the crowd. In addition to the countdown and fireworks that captured in the video below, we spent a good deal of time watching classic movie trailers in the Harris Theater . It was a good relieve after standing and walking on the streets for a couple of hours.
