This is an old news, but I think it's worth mentioning because it's a satisfactory to have participated and made a little contribution to an award winning project. (Yes, it's about my job, again.)

  • The GSM Association Awards

  • It's like the Oscars in movie industry, the GSM Association Awards is the mobile industry's premier showcase, annually giving out recognitions in 4 major categories.
    1. Applications, Content & Services
    2. Handsets, Devices and Network Solutions
    3. Marketing and Promotion
    4. Mobile in the Community

  • 2002 Best Corporate Wireless Application or Service

  • The "Fleet Management" service is a collaboration effort between a GSM operator, Far EasTone Telecommunications Co. and a GIS vender, RITI Technology Inc.. The operator provides the GSM network coverage, SIM cards and dedicated USSD short code. The vender provides GPS and location mapping and tracking system. My role in the project is to design and implement the backend system that dispatches USSD traffic to external vendors.
A funny fact. One of my sisters recently found a new job in the RITI Technology Inc.. What a coincident!

  • The Trophy from the Company

  • Every team member in the project was given a trophy for the contribution, so I also got one on my desktop.

Presented to Allen Hsu As Outstanding Contribution for "Fleet Management"
Awarded Best Corporate Wireless Application of GSM Association Award 2002
    Feb, 2002 Cannes, France
