The ITRI Incubator Center just won the Randall M. Whaley Incubator of the Year, an award given by National Business Incubation Association, honoring overall excellence of business incubation programs. Opened in 1996, the ITRI Incubator Center is the pioneer of its kind in Taiwan. It is also the first Asian organization to receive such award. Following the ITRI Incubator Center, many Taiwan's major universities now operate their own incubation centers as a way to encourage innovation and establish stronger relationship with industry.
