It was an epic 23 mile (37 km) bike ride, started from Hua Jiang Bridge and ended unexpectedly at Taipei Bridge. The ending was unexpected because my ten-year-old folding bike, which was freshly pulled out of its long hibernation, had simply decided that it had had enough of my ignorance and would not allow me to stop--it's rusty brake levers were broken down, one by one, the right-hand one first and then the left-hand one.
I was amazed at its endurance, holding itself up through out the 23 mile ride. I imagined that it would have persisted longer for me to go all the way back to where we started--I knew that it had tried its best.
To repay its effort, I took it for a MRT ride. We boarded the train at Shuanglian Station, made the first transfer at C.K.S. Memorial Hall Station, made the second at Ximen Station, and finally arrived at Jiangzicui Station. I promised my bike that I will fix its brake levers and we will hit the road again soon.
