When I parked my bike on the Left Bank Ferry Pier at Bali, Taipei, I couldn't help marveling at the upcoming ferry ride that would take us to Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf. It was such a perfect day for a ferry ride, I dared say: sun was shinning and wind was breezing.

It had been a while since the first time I took a ferry on the "Blue Highway". In fact, this was going to be just my second time, and I was already eager to bring on board not only myself but also an unusual package--my antique bike.

I always had a curious feeling when I got on board a marine vessel. The feeling was very much like a sense of déjà vu. I imagined that I was a mariner in my previous life; I felt most comfortable on board a rocking vessel.

My affection toward the ferry ride was definitely the reason why I did not frown at being drenched by the splashing water when the ferry broke the waves.

P.S. The bigger bike in the photo is a Giant Yukon Disk recently acquired by Michael.
