Uzak ihtimal, which means "remote possibility" in Turkish, is a film centering around a young Muslim muezzin, who is attracted to his neighbor, a young Christian girl, who was raised and now works in a church. The film's international festival title, Wrong Rosary, refers to a scene where the muezzin performs one of his prayers while holding a rosary with a cross (just like the one on the poster). It belongs to his Christian neighbor, who dropped it on her way out after a brief encounter with the muezzin on the doorway of their apartments. The muezzin's inadvertent error shows not only his affection toward his neighbor but also the religious differences between them. Are these differences the main reason that prevents the muezzin from declaring his affection to the girl? Certainly not. Perhaps it is like many of us who are afraid of getting hurt and therefore waiting for the right moment.
