Schenley House was the third apartment building (and also the last one) we went for house hunting. We had heard good words about it from friends (one of them is current tenant) and seen the positive reviews on the Apartment Ratings web site, therefore, when we learned the monthly rent is within our range, we promptly made the decision to take it. Apartment 3A is just above the porch in the photo. The two adjacent windows on the right belong the living room; the other two smaller windows to the left belong to two separate bedrooms -- I live in the farther left one.

Moving from Mudge House to Schenley House took us nearly ten hours. First, we had to pick up our cargo van in a somewhat remote area that we spent almost one hour to locate. After that, we went straight to Tammy's place to move our furniture -- Tammy just graduated from CMU and will move to San Francisco, so we bought most of her furniture. I did not realize how much furniture we had until we started to load them into the van. What's more, we also had to unload and move them into our apartment. Almost four hours were spent, before we could go back to Mudge House to pick up our luggage. Fortunately, the rest of our moving activities involved with no more big and heavy furniture. It's nearly nine when we settled down to have dinner at Boston Market. But there were two more things left to be done: we had to return the van to that remote area and then came back to our apartment. The final step should not be a problem if there was still daylight, but it was 10:30pm when we left the key to the key drop. Perhaps we should not be too worried, because there were five of us walking together on the desolate street -- one French, two Japanese and two Taiwanese. The waiting of our bus was excruciating. Although we tried to look casual and confident, we were smiling through tears when we saw the bus coming toward us. I had never loved taking a bus so much.
