After working for more then five years, I finally got my first check -- not the first paycheck of course, but the first "written, dated, and signed instrument that contains an unconditional order from the drawer that directs a bank to pay a definite sum of money to a payee." The drawer of the check is Far Eastone Education Center, for which my colleagues and I prepared two e-learning courses. We didn't expect to get any extra payment when we started to work on the materials. It's not until later that we learnt the organization had reserved a budge for the work and we all felt grateful for the generosity.
